CYBSEC-TECH

Integrated Cybersecurity Platform for Health 4.0

Project Overview:

The main goal of CYBSEC-TECH is the design and implementation of a cybersecurity platform that allows companies of the Health sector to face, from an agile and flexible point of view,  advanced threats.  However, the advent of Industry 4.0 and its suitability for health sector also involves to consider some security issues associated with Health 4.0 digital transformation and its ecosystem, the massive digitization processes and the full dependence on diverse types of “smart” information technologies such as medical devices of the Internet of Things (IoT).

The achievement of all these objectives in turn implies to consider the following points of interest. First, the need to identify the current requirements in the field of Industry 4.0 cybersecurity, stressing the particular features of the health sector regarding other industrial sectors. Second, provide an experimental research prototype with the support for the integral security management, including: Detection and discovery of assets, identification, classification and management of cyberattacks, audting methods, and adaptative defense tools. Lastly, validate the functional features of the prototype and its real application in real contexts.

Taking into account this, NICS Lab has addressed the actions related to the former and last point; i.e.,  the exploration of the current cybersecurity needs in the Health 4.0 field and the validation of the cybsecurity platform.
